Figure 1. Risk stratification and management of CSPH: LSM, HVPG, and the impact of beta-blockers on clinical outcomes. This figure illustrates the risk stratification for clinically significant portal hypertension (CSPH) using liver stiffness measurement (LSM) and hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG). It highlights the risk factors such as LSM and platelet count, and compares the CSPH Risk Model with Baveno VII Criteria for ruling in or out CSPH. The diagram also shows the non-invasive tests (NITs) for CSPH and the impact of Non-Selective Beta-Blockers (NSBB) on the cumulative risk of clinical decompensation (CD) over three years. The CSPH risk model categorizes patients into low, medium, and high-risk groups, with carvedilol showing a significant reduction in CD incidence in the high-risk group. The associated statistics and cut-off values are presented alongside the predictive value of these measurements for managing portal hypertension.
